Just a quick message about my very first night out in Tokyo. Just because it was so authentic and so much fun. Biggest problem is that is was so authentic that they did not speak any English, there was no website or even a name I can mention…
So when in Ginza-Tokyo, go to the Monterrey hotel, keep it on your left, take the 1st left and walk about 150 meters…. on your left you will recognise the 2 older people that are running this show… No matter what the age was (75+?) They were cooking with love and devotion, and that is all you need in life!
So what did I eat?
Dunno…. 😉 Could not read the menu, that was hanging on the walls, next to our baby table….hahaha
But we started with some kind of Tofu and Carrot cake thingy… not that great, typical Asian flavour…
But after this, and some local beer, having a small jetlag, finally 2 great dishes: Pork and vegetable dim sum on the hot plate, and after this fresh made veggie and chicken and veggie and shrimp “frittata”. Topped with fresh sesame soy sauce and typical Kewpi mayonnaise…
All very simple but pure and honest.
Quick but unofficial points…:
Food just fine, 8 out of 10
Seats, terrible, but in this setting just perfect 7 out of 10
Staff, so much fun ordering with sign language…LOL 8 out of 10
Price, something like 20 euro for 3 with beers and in the most expensive city in the world… 10 out of 10
So overall 8,2 is what they deserve!
