Welcome dear reader,

Over the past 25 years or so, I have had the luxury to go out for dinner on so many occasions that I dare to say that I have visited over a 1000 restaurants in at least 50 countries on 4 different continents. Going to 1, 2 and even 3 Michelin Star restaurants, as well as small restaurants in some back alley in a small village in Eastern-Europe.

I can say that both going out, as well as home cooking are my greatest hobbies. Therefore I created this website where you can read all about my stories in restaurants around the world.

I either write a full review scoring every aspect of the restaurant and ending with a total score or I will write (most of the times, since 04-06-17) a quick or short review scoring the place like this:

So the new rules are very simple:

$ = Not worth coming back in my personal opinion or maybe just overpriced or unlucky service….

$$ = Enjoyed it, would come back if I was in the neighbourhood, but not worth making any detour…..not special enough to remember but good average food for sure.

$$$ = Fuck me, wake me up in the middle of the night to go here again, or at least good enough to really recommend.

And since I nowadays travel so much, All over the world, I have the luxury of eating at even more different restaurants than maybe most human beings… so I thought: Why not make some kind of review site / blog? It has even gone this far that I have been invited to give my honest opinion on several occasions, and from that thought came another one;

Why not make this hobby a serious one? With my knowledge of the restaurant business (been within foodservice for over 15 years now), and my knowledge of cost management, hospitality and ingredients, I can take this one step further.

Meaning that from now on, besides writing these reviews as a hobby, I will also be available to assist any restaurant that could use my view or opinion. I can operate as a mystery guest to test your personnel or kitchen staff, making a menu evaluation or writing a promotional or independent article about your restaurant, the sky is the limit.

Some additional info about me:

I was born on the 10th of July 1979, born in the Netherlands and now living in Belgium. Ever since both my father and my mother shared a passion for food and wine (and my older sister as well), they have infected me with this same virus… I just love to cook, eat, drink and go out that much, that I just need to share this experience. And maybe, some day, this site can function as a global restaurant review site?!

      Om eerlijk te zijn was ik niet van plan om over Usine te schrijven, maar indien gewenst wil ik zeker mijn mening geven. Helaas heb ik niet de kans gehad om meer van de kaart of het restaurant te bekijken om een eerlijke en volledige review te schijven.
      Neemt niet weg dat de geproefde salade zeker uniek was voor mij.
