Visited this relatively new restaurant this May 2016. Looking trendy from the outside, still Spanish on the inside…..they never learn….. but it is their culture so what can you expect? (http://mareanarejos.com/)

And yet again the most terrible Samsung pictures ever…. time for a new camera! (crowd funding maybe….??) And still sorry for the slow rate of posting new reviews, eating out 3 times a month and only posting 1 every 2 months gives a pile of work, there will be a time in the near future when I will post more often!

What did I eat and drink:

To start an original perfect Vodka – Martini with 1 olive….. old school.

Lamb chops

Steak with duck liver

chocolate – walnut dessert (and some leftovers from other guests…)

 

Positive and negative points:

+++ Nice lounge outside

+++ Original menu for the Spanish cuisine…

+++ Most of the prices

—— Terrible white Spanish lighting

—— The menu is way too big

—— Do not give a 1 person portion when you put a 2 person plate on the menu !

Why am I so fat…… I don’t know, could it be this chocolate cake?

Commercial wine for a reasonable price and always good taste.

Yes, this should be a 2 person main course….. fr me it is a starter….. you agree?

 

 

Time for the overall points:

Food: Combination of typical Spanish with boring and flat French fries topped with a grilled pepper, on the other side great solomillo on this menu combined with tempura vegetables and “foie” and then the choice of Pedro Ximenez or even chocolate sauce… (WOW) so difficult to give it a rating but being positive I would give it a 7.5 out of 10

Coziness: High potential, great outside but basic seating and again typical lighting. Not that happy so a basic 5.5 out of 10

Staff: Correct, friendly. quick (with just 6 guests) and even some humor…. Overall just fine. So a 7.5 out of 10 again!

Price: As you can see for yourself, they are very reasonable for this good menu. I think we paid around €145 for 4 people incuding 2 bottles of wine, so maybe the best feature 😉 solid 8 out of 10

 

Overall: 7.1 out of 10 !
