Being back in my old hometown of Eindhoven, having been at almost every restaurant in this city in the past, this time I ended up at tapasbar Si senor:

we had a long walk at the cultural tour called GLOW and my friends decided on Tapas, and this one was the closest by, not so happy here in the past so maybe things changed after some years…..(not).

The restaurant was half full (or half empty for you negative people) and there were like 4 teenagers running around that should be classified as staff. After some minutes we got us a table, just behind the front door, but it was okay, no wind or drafts coming by. It then took some time to se another waiter to ask us what to drink and after that even more time before the menus came to the table. All within reasonable margin but you just don’t feel like a guest. Bad part coming, because it took like 10 minutes before someone noticed our drinks were empty and we still did not order, and I hate waiting, and hate it even more when 3 teenagers are hanging around the bar without any guests…

We ordered some typical tapas such as Albondigas, shrimps, octopus, goat cheese, olives, bread etc. The standard tapas every one knows and every Dutch Tapas restaurant seems to offer….:

And this was what I nowadays call “ping” food, because that is the sound the microwave makes when it is ready…!!! Let me be honest, it was the best microwave – warmed-up tapas I had in a long time. I liked the turkey sausages with lentils chutney, the ribs with apple treacle were good as well and the goat cheese with salad and honey and almonds was tasteful  but still only for warm-up quality. I do not believe there is a cook in this restaurant, only one or two people “assembling” the dishes. Which in my opinion makes you a factory worker and not a cook at all….

Positive part is the decor of the restaurant good Spanish surroundings and a good effort was made to dress up the place.

In the end, I would like to give a positive scorecard but they just do not deserve it. Since I know the owner I hope he will not read this but I was really disappointed, they should do better!
