Restaurant koishi Brno
Typical Japanese influenced restaurant but strong mixture of modern techniques and local knowledge. Also Nr. 1 restaurant according to local restaurant sites. (and I think they might be right….!!! )
What did I eat?
Amuse, crab cake and saffron and lemon-grass mousse – Halibut with red curry gel, coconut and jasmine foam, marinated and pickled cauliflower, paksoi and rice croquet – summer berries with creme Anglaise roasted hazelnut and almond crumble
Drinks?
Yes, Ume Shu Japanese cocktail and a small bottle of sake (warm)
Good / Bad points:
+ unique menu for Czech republic
+ strong amuse to start
+ main dish was a bullseye
– the bread basket was lame and boring, nothing special, no oil no butter, big shame!
– I missed the suggestion by the waiters, like for starter and drinks, cocktail of the house or other suggestion was welcome.
– Specialized in Sushi, but I never saw the sushi menu
Points:
Food: 9.4 – perfect main, good amuse, just the dessert was to simple, could have made that at home any time
Coziness: 8.8 – in style, quiet, good “feng shui”
staff: 9 – very warm people, always looking and quick on there feet. Just some extra explanations would have been welcome.
Price: 9.2 – for this level of food, with the drinks and 2 courses a total of €42,- was very nice
Overall: 9.1 which is well deserved !
